"Our source, whom we’ve known five years and is as heavily entrenched in the hood as we are, shared with me (and now, you!) that Earwax Cafe, 1561 N. Milw., might not be closing, and instead reopening under same ownership with a revamped menu and possible expansion or remodeling. Stay tuned!"

from today’s Wicker Park Bucktown Pipeline newsletter

Well, I’m still going for lunch there tomorrow.

Liz Phair Returns to Wicker Park & Confronts Her Critics (Blackbook) →

I found this interesting only because of the Bucktown/Wicker Park/Ukrainian Village references and having watched the neighborhood change in last 10 years (although I’ve only been living in it for five, since graduating college).

And yeah, Exit in Guyville ain’t half bad.

And it’s funny (to me) that Liz Phair went to my high school and her parents were customers at a Winnetka retail store I worked at during/after college. I have no trouble imagining her rebellious North Shore self living in WP when it was scummy and I can also very vividly imagine her parents reaction.

(thanks to Chicagoist for the linkage!)

Me and Doug. Brewing a dortmunder. This is “my” beer although I’m no brewer, just an assistant. I’m kind of giddy right now. This beer is NAMED after me!
Dortmunder von Anhalt will be tapped at Small Bar Divison on October 1. Its part of an event across all three Small Bars, details TBA but there’s a free trolley involved. Mark your calendars and come drink beer with me!
I love my job. More than I can express. Even though its been a hot, nasty, sweaty, dirty summer. I can’t believe I get to do this every day.

Metropolitan Brewing presents "A Summer Soaked in Beer" →

My take on all the events we have scheduled this summer, a guide of sorts.

If anything, take pleasure in my poor grammar and typos.

And take pleasure in my stalkability since you’ll know where to find me on any given day or night.

    Cheers friends!
