What a revelation Generator has been this season. Working my way through a number of stouts and porters that typify the winter season, my night at Watershed Bar was coming to a close when I ordered “just one more.” Enter the Metropolitan Generator Doppelbock.

Opening event was at “Beer Under Glass” at the Garfield Park Conservatory and was a ton of fun.

Metropolitan Brewing is heading to the Map Room tonight in Bucktown for a sweet pairing event. Checkout this lineup of Metro brews paired with Indonesian cuisine from the Rice Table:

— Iron Works Alt and Rendang Dagin (slow braised beef in a coconut red curry with lemon grass). SPICY
— Krankshaft Kölsch and Tahi Pedis (spicy stir fried tofu with red chiles, sliced onions and tamarind). VERY SPICY, VEGAN
— Flywheel Bright Lager and Ayam Djahe (succulent braised chicken in a sweet soy and ginger broth. MILD

BYOB…. who doesn’t enjoy a good BYOB dinner? And who hasn’t dreamt of plopping a 1/6th-barrel down next to your table and opening the tap, letting the beer flow freely? Okay, maybe it’s just my alcohol-soaked dream but you get the idea…

However, tonight my dream becomes a reality: We’ll be at a cozy Andersonville BYOB, serving Metro to whomever wants it. For free. NSA.

It’s a pizza/pasta place with an extensive gluten-free menu. Any guesses?

Paul is not just holding any beer at Wrigley on Opening Day…

It’s Metropolitan Brewing’s Krankshaft!

Krankshaft, along with several other fine craft beers, is now on tap at the Captain Morgan Club. I really cannot believe “my” beer is in the Friendly Confines. My Grandma would be so proud!

So now you can cheer local, eat local (Vienna Beef) and drink local (Metro, Two Bros) at Wrigley.

And an added “awesome” extra: the old tap list was Bud, Bud Light, Shocktop, Stella and 312. Talk about a mother-effin’ sea change.

So far, so good. This makes me happy! I am digging the sh*t out of our new beer. Glad to see other people are too! (Even though I’m so “over” review websites like Yelp and the people on BA are scary-intense most of the time.)
