me3dia: A new blog planning to give a sense of the character of each neighborhood in Chicago. We’ll see just how complete it ends up being. Only two entries so far. I’m not impressed. It’s nothing Yelp can’t help you figure out.

Chicago Tonight featured a segment on the Vivian Maier story last week. And small world: she was living in my hometown while I was growing up (‘89-‘93, I think). Her first American show will be at the Chicago Cultural Center, opening January 7. I’ll definitely be there. If you didn’t know, there’s a documentary film in the works. Did you guys know about this place on Milwaukee (at Noble)? Sounds like a venue to watch (if you’re into indie film, art, etc). cheapjanechicago: The Nightingale is an Independent film venue that shows all kinds of work either for free or for real cheap. They are also very open to booking young independent artists.
